Sustainability

Portumna Golf Club recognises our responsibility to ensure sustainability is a key priority in the running of our Club. Although in the early stages, we have formed a sustainability working group to look at all aspects of the way we do business and to ensure the use of environmentally friendly practises throughout the club. Portumna Golf club recognises the importance of its contribution to wider society and the effect the game has on nature and resources, delivered by ensuring the Club provides a positive sporting, environmental and social legacy for future generations. The Club is committed to protecting the areas of the course which are rich in Flora and Fauna and we aim to conserve scarce resources and utilise others in an efficient manner to ensure the sustainability of Portumna Golf Club for many years to come.

Initiatives currently introduced includes a full review of waste collection and disposal with the addition of distribution of extra recycling bins around the course a long side our general waste bins ensuring any rubbish is split and sorted at source into general and recyclable.

We have also introduced reusable coffee cups and water bottles which are branded with the Portumna Golf club logo. These are available to buy in our shop and it is hoped will encourage our members and visitors to reuse instead of using single use coffee cups.
