Presidents Prize 2025
We were delighted to host our President’s Prize recently, and what a fantastic day it turned out to be! With President Carmel Whelan at the helm, the event was a tremendous success—full of great golf, good company, and a wonderful atmosphere from start to finish.
The course was in excellent condition, and the spirit of friendly competition made for a truly memorable weekend. Members and guests alike enjoyed the chance to come together, celebrate the club, and show their support for this special annual event.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who participated, helped organise, or came along to support. Events like these are only possible because of the wonderful sense of volunteerism we have, and it was on full display throughout the entire weekend.
And of course—congratulations to President Carmel Whelan on a hugely successful President’s Prize. Your hard work, leadership, and warm presence made the event extra special for everyone involved.
Here’s to many more great days at the club!
The Claret Jug Visits Our Club – A Day to Remember!
We were honoured to welcome the iconic Claret Jug to our club recently as part of the Road to The Open tour – and what a fantastic day it was! Our club was proud to be one of just 20 clubs in Ireland selected for this prestigious event, and the excitement around the visit was truly special.
There was a real buzz in the air as members, visitors, and special guests got the rare chance to see the famous trophy up close. The Claret Jug, steeped in golfing history, brought with it a sense of tradition, pride, and inspiration for golfers of all ages.
A special thank you goes to St. Brendan’s National School, who added something truly unique to the day. The students put in tremendous effort, completing wonderful research projects and creating impressive displays all about the history and legacy of the Claret Jug. Their enthusiasm and knowledge added so much to the event and reminded us all why the future of golf is in such good hands.
It was a day filled with excitement, learning, and community spirit—a celebration of golf and all that makes it special.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success. Here’s to more unforgettable moments at our club!
